Patented Compression Clamps. (Patent #5,403,1 1 0, and D383374)- Our clamps were designed to provide the ultimate in strength and stability. They are utilized at key points requiring structural integrity. Our compression clamps hold more surface area at each joint keeping your swingset strong and stable for years to come. No other manufacturer provides the engineered strength our compression clamps create.
No potentially toxic lumber is used.- Farm-harvested California redwood has become the most desirable softwood for outdoor use. Why? Redwood is superior in durability, beauty, strength and resistance to the elements. Redwood does not contain harmful chemicals that may be damaging to your child's health. Backyard Adventures only uses redwood from suppliers that participate in the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Programs (SFI).
The safest Fort entry ladders available.
- Flat wood steps provide a more stable footing than rounded steps, which can become slippery and difficult to climb. The steel hand rails are reinforced and splinter-free.
Our Redwood is stained and sealed at the factory.- We apply nontoxic stain and sealer on our wood to insure more uniform color and protect the wood from such things as mildew. Redwood tends to blacken if left unsealed. Not all manufacturers seal their product and others charge extra for this protection.
Powder coated steel components.- Powder coating is a high-tech method of painting. After a three stage washing process the steel is electrostatically charged to a negative state. It is then introduced to the powder in a special spray booth. The positive powder seeks all negative surface insuring total coverage of the surface. The paint is then baked on in an oven. Only Backyard Adventures offers this environmentally friendly process in house.
Swing stability and safety.- Only Backyard Adventures provides a "double braced" add-on swingset. Additional 4x4 and 2x6 supports to the Fort enhance stability and eliminate swaying. Those long, green steel strips spanning the swing beam are another Backyard Adventures® exclusive, providing an extra safety measure against board failure.
Arched Wall Rails.- Keep your child safely inside the fort, diminishing the risk of falling. The arched rail makes entering the fort easy and provides a barrier for safety.
No Wooden Dowels.- We exclusively use powder coated steel rungs on all swing ladders and trapeze bars. Wooden dowels can splinter with age.
Floor Joisting System.- Built just like your house, for the most solid, stable floor available on the market.
Compare our Fort sizes.- Most Forts available are 4'x6' or smaller. Our 5'x5' design provides more play area.
Heavy-Duty Steel Chains.- The powder-coated swing chain is noticeably stronger than competing models.You can feel the difference!
No staple construction.- All wooden members (floors, walls, roofs, etc.) are securely fastened with wood screws or wood screw nails. Staples can work loose. Exposed staples can create a hazard.
More wood, more value- Wall designs by Backyard Adventures use more wood than many other models. Our walls create a more "private" area inside for kids while still allowing parental observation at all times.
